TALKING TO A JAPANESE PHILOSOPHER

The network of Christian missionaries is so meticulously organised that one wonders as to how on one hand the believers of Christian faith are so liberal and are spreading the culture of obscenity and on the other there are personalities like Mother Teresa and Father Desmund Tutu who organised large groups and did nothing else except serving humanity and preaching Christianity. In every underdeveloped area of Pakistan also we can see Christian clergymen, doctors , nurses and women dressed in the typical dress of nuns. They serve those Pakistanis day and night who pay taxes to the government of Pakistan and in return the government neither provides them clean drinking water nor any health facilities in case of sickness. In such circumstances these Christian doctors, clergymen and nurses give medical treatment to the poor, provide them free medicines and not only this but if they need to be shifted to a big hospital in a big city then their ambulance vans come into action. This does not only happen in Pakistan but in the other countries also. In an Indian city the prejudiced Hindus burnt alive an Australian clergyman and his innocent children. But in a few days time two more clergymen came in his place and re-started serving the people by giving them medical treatment or education from where the late clergyman had stopped without referring to the burning of the clergyman and his children. We never hear any scandals about these clergymen and other Christian volunteers. In their own country they are free to do what ever they like but when they go in a mission then they exhibit an exemplary and unblemished personal character.

The Christian preachers, traders and rulers wherever they went the first thing they did was to translate Bible and other Christian literature in the native languages for free distribution and found out opportunities to talk with the local people on these subjects. Every one was asked to raise critical questions. Those who speak Urdu would surely be knowing that when the British established Fort William College in Calcutta the first thing they did was to translate Bible in Persian and Urdu languages and this translation was done by well-known writers. Today when you read Bible in Urdu you have a feeling of a strong taste of language and literature. On any question related to Christianity one can find an excellent book in any language of the world. If you go to any book shop any where in the world you will find a large number of books on Christian culture and mode of life.

Let us talk about Islam now. There is a Japanese professor here who teaches philosophy in the university. He often comes to me and discusses various topics related to Islam. Whenever I go to Pakistan or India I bring with me books on Islam in Urdu and English and use them as reference material while talking with Japanese gentlemen. But the Japanese have the biggest complaint that Islam is the biggest religion of the world and more than one third of World?s territory is occupied by Muslims and among Muslims are the richest people in the world. In spite of this they do not find any literature on Islam in Japanese language. Many Muslim clergymen frequently visit this country. Many times I had the privilege to act as their interpreter but they are never prepared to take interest in the fact that basic and important literature related to Islam should be translated into Japanese language.

I am upset because of what this Japanese philosopher says. I have now decided that taking the basics and fundamentals of Islamic teachings I shall translate a book in Japanese omitting all unnecessary things. This will satisfy those who want to know something about Islam in Japanese language. I am grateful to Almighty God that I have made a start in this direction. My book will represent the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his concept of Islam. There will be nothing about any sect or religious group in it because I shall write about the real spirit of Islam.

I have experienced a lot during my travels in Japan and in different countries of the world. Here is a Japanese gentleman who is the target of an American who preaches Christianity to him all the time. That Japanese often visits me as well. He has told me that he has not embraced Christianity but he respects that American a lot because firstly he is highly educated and secondly shunning every personal business he is preaching Christianity for the last two years. He is an American but he has shown no moral aberration. He is propagating Christianity spending his own money. Whosoever he befriends or any one who comes to know him gets enormously impressed from him.

The question arises that aren?t there any rich people among Muslims who could send Muslim missionaries to Japan, Korea and its neighbouring countries and these missionaries should present an exemplary character without indulging in any activity which could discredit them. It is my conviction that if a few and learned people who have mastery over English and Japanese languages and are men of character come to Japan then in a few years they will bring a revolution in Japanese society. But in case here or in any other country they will commit any immoral thing then that will hurt the cause of Islamic movement and ideology very much. The gentleman who comes here for this purpose should be a married person without any greed or hunger of a baser nature. Can any Muslim cleric or scholar conform to this criterion? There is a dire need of teachers of Islam in Japanese and South Asian universities and colleges. Here Hindu, Sikh and Christian teachers deliver lectures on Islam. One can imagine what they would be teaching.

It is my considered opinion that at present all my Muslim brothers strongly need education in religion and faith. Islamic education should be commonly taught in all schools, colleges and universities of Pakistan. Islam and the Holy Quran are subjects to be taught and explained by researchers and scholars in international branches of knowledge. The clerics of mosques and madrassas (Islamic schools) can not deal with Islam and related philosophy. To pull Islam out of sectarianism it is imperative to promote the international appeal of Islam and the Holy Quran. Islamic knowledge should be placed at par with other world class philosophies. For this purpose learning and research should be encouraged instead of fake degrees. This will enable us to fix the position of Islam above sectarianism and pull the country out of the prejudices of religion, language, region and caste and creed and create a Pakistani nationhood.

HOW DID A MAN BECOME A SNAKE ?

I am starting this chapter with reference to my father. My parents had international thinking and immense love for religion and country. My father spent most part of his life in Saudi Arabia and performed many pilgrimages (Hajj). That is why he is known as Al-Haj Muhammad Hanif Mughal. My father, when he was alive, taught me to build my intellect for which I am very grateful to him and I am thankful to God Almighty on blessing me with such mother and father who not only thought of my future but also of the future generations and endeavoured hard to educate me and build my character.

My father visited me many times in Japan. I received maximum support from my father for my international marriage and he would tender nice advice to me. He used to say that we should never forget our origin. I should be proud of being a Pakistani till the end and should always walk erect with pride as a Muslim and make my future generations to follow suit. I should always keep the name plate of Made in Pakistan and Born in Islam attached to my heart and keep on increasing the love for the country and nation. That is how I would learn to love other nations and countries. So the first love I have in my heart is for my nation, country and Islam. Then after that rather a similar love and affection I have for Japan. I consider Japan as my country and my endeavour is that it becomes Pakistan and Pakistan becomes Japan. By exchanging the good points of both the countries and wiping out the bad points we should shake hands as the right and left hands meet in handshake. Every one preaches for doing good but who can eliminate the bad things. No one teaches in depth. There is need for imparting this education and training in Schools, Colleges and Universities.

The vices bite us like snakes and no body tells the correct cure for those who are bitten by these snakes nor one tries to invent a drug for the same. The problem is that we have started breeding the snakes of vice in our sleeves and are nourishing them. The result is that they will keep on multiplying. In other words you may treat the snakes? off-springs kindly and nourish them with cups of milk but their nature is to bite and therefore they can never be our friends. All these vices, social vices, political vices, different types of vices are multiplying like the young ones of snakes being nourished day by day. Unless we eliminate them the peace and tranquillity can not return to the society and the country. An Urdu poet wrote:

Do not give the example of snake for a man
There are some harmless snakes as well

The present day man is more poisonous than snakes and one bitten by him does not ask for water. Among the snakes they say there are very few poisonous snakes that bite. They live in jungles that is why one should not be afraid of them. One should be scared of the snakes that live in cities who can reduce many innocent human beings to nothing by their hissing hoods in the shape of bomb blasts.

The snakes live in forest, human beings in city
If we save ourselves from snakes then human beings are there to bite us

I do not know which poet wrote these verses but what ever he has written is true. So first of all we should investigate how did a man acquire the trait of a snake. How do the young ones of snakes are bred among human beings and how to kill this poisonous snake present within the human being. Are these snakes a product of present times or they existed in previous ages? If we study the history carefully we find that they existed at all times. There was not a single period in history when these venomous snakes did not exist. Therefore to investigate the reason how this poisonous trait entered human nature I thought of talking to the first human being on this earth instead of asking some saints or prophets.

I rang up Hazrat Adam (AS) from Japan and asked him if he could spare some time and fix an appointment with me so that I could visit him. Adam(AS) replied, I am waiting for a long time that some one from human race contacts me and tries to find out my circumstances. Some time back a Pakistani Qawwal (Singer of Devotional Songs) met me but he could not thoroughly understand my point of view. He was always complaining to God Almighty but never presented my spirit and feelings to the human beings through his Qawwalis. Tell me how is that Qawwal? I said, Babaji that Qawwal was consider very dear by the people that is why perhaps his name was Aziz Mian. May be he had a different name in reality. But he died very recently. What I want to discuss with you is not some thing related to writing poetry but I want to talk with you in depth about a very important subject. And five or ten minutes meeting will be too little for this purpose. Baba Adam said, OK you may come when ever you like. My doors are always open for you. I jotted down some points in my notebook and prepared to ask some questions from him in order to find out the reality about human being.

AN EVENING WITH ADAM IN PARADISE

One day I received a telephone call from Baba Adam (AS) which came from paradise. He asked me in case I am free that evening then I should visit him to have tea and samosas ( a Pakistani dish) Mother Hava (Eva) had specially prepared them for you because one of our children is visiting us after a very long time,? he told me.
I said,? Baba Ji I was waiting for your call. I shall be there in no time.?
When I entered the tent of Baba Adam , Mother Hava received me with great love, affection and sincerity. I felt the affection and love of a mother. I was entertained with hot cup of tea containing cardamom and samosas and pakoras.
At last coming back to my objective I told Baba Adam (AS), I want to have a private conversation with you in an informal way.
Then Baba Adam offered me to have stroll in the Garden of Eden. I caught his hand and started towards the Garden. While walking I started asking him questions. First question was , How did Almighty God create you? From earth or flesh?
Baba said Leave these things and talk some thing concrete. Whether I was made of dust or flesh it is immaterial because what ever was made was made by God. He made me according to his imagination and I am grateful for it.
I told Baba. ? You are right. Let us forget what ever happened before. There is no fun in knowing these things now. The most important question is as to why Almighty God created you? Why ?
Baba Adam replied, When an artist creates some thing like a painting or a piece of art then he has a motive behind it. When a perfect piece of art comes into being in line with his imagination then the artist feels pleasure in looking at it. I think the motive of our creation was joy. After completing the whole universe when Almighty God created me the last of all then I was feeling that my coming into being in this world was the greatest source of joy for God but looking at my loneliness and solitude God created Hava (Eve)for my happiness.
Now like a child you would ask me whether Hava(Eve) was created from my rib or dust but the fact that how she was produced does not carry any meaning . Yes, the point is why was she created. In other words the reason and objective are of more importance. So why God created me is not known to any one else more than I know. Because when I was alone and isolated I was not happy. God made me his companion to be happy and then in order to make me happy he made a companion for me in the shape of Hava. So what ever relation I had with God was based on love. Then God brought me up with love and deputed a staff of best angels to train me.
I listened to Baba Ji very carefully and then said. Baba Ji! If I want to have a gist of what you have told me then it is that God created you so that you could have a taste of love and then made a companion for you to feel the pleasure . Because with a lone entity you could not experience the joy. In order to feel pleasure you need a companion. So God presented you with a very beautiful partner Hava.?
Baba said, That’s right. The purpose of God in my creation was consummation of love and there are three types of love:
1. Parental love
2. Love between husband and wife
3. Love of children
So when a person fulfils these three types of love then he feels the love of God from very close proximity and all these three types of love can be experienced if you have the human form in the world. Thus to complete these loves God created the human forms of Hava and myself. In spiritual world these three loves can not be experienced because to produce children is only possible in this material world and to have affectionate relationship with children and wife is only possible on this earthly world. The happiness emanates from family and house, from children, from parents, from sisters and brothers, from friends and compatriots. One feels it through loving some one. When some parents love their child he appears most loveable and handsome to them. In other words the sense of beauty is conveyed to the parents through their love. In the same way of the human beings start loving God then all of them can become very beautiful and handsome. Just as the parents give toys of different colours and types to their children as a manifestation of their love in the same way God has enriched the world with different types of colourful resources. All these toys are his masterpieces which he has created to please the human being. Now if the human beings do not understand and feel these blessings of God then it is their fault.

By developing relationship of love with God man can become handsome and beautiful. In my creation God cared most for my beauty and blessed every other thing on this earth with beauty for giving joy to man. That is why man loves all the blessings of God in the world and he likes this world and falls in love with worldly things. He loves them deeply and these start looking more and more attractive to him day by day and caught in their spell he forgets the love of God. That is why he does not bother about the other world but remains attached to the love of material world and that leads him to his decline.

The real relationship between human being and God is the relationship of love and beauty and if human being expresses his gratefulness to God at all times and appreciates his blessings as a gift from God with love then the God is very happy and bestowed with God?s beauty and attraction he prolongs his life. But looking at the human beings of the present age in which you are passing your life God becomes sad and he feels pity for human beings for their present condition and wonders as to why they are heading towards self destruction.

These assertions of Baba Ji compelled me to ponder over them and at last I questioned him, How were you brought up? Upon this Baba Adam replied, Just as there are three phases of human life that are childhood, youth and old age in a similar way Hava (Eve)and myself were brought up in three phases. If we look at a fruit tree we find that first of all we sow the seed and the next stage is its growth and in the end there is completion and it starts producing fruit. Thus we were also brought in these three phases. The fulfilment of birds , animals and the universe is God?s responsibility. Thus every thing in this universe is running according to a system of nature but man?s completion and fulfilment is hundred percent God’s responsibility rather he shares this responsibility with man.
I asked Bab Adam to explain this to me in easy words. Baba Ji said, If I talk of the responsibility in terms of percentages then it will be easy to understand. Just understand it this way that out of hundred percent God has 95 percent responsibility for the completion (fulfilment) of man and 5 percent rests on man himself. He assumed 95 percent because to produce a man in a perfect state that is producing his vital organs like nose, eyes, ears, heart, kidneys etc. in correct state and keeping him alive is his responsibility because all these things function under a natural system but man?s responsibility of 5 percent is in fact his freedom. The God has set him free after his creation so that he completes himself according to his own discretion, chooses his own path, performs good deeds and he can also attain a long life in his own discretion.

If the Almighty takes away this 5 percent from man then he would be rendered as a ROBOT. He would perform what ever programme would be fed in it. But God has made him superior to all his creations so that he could conquer and harness the world with freedom. Man is free to lead himself to his own rise or fall with his 5 percent discretion. God has no responsibility for it. But the problem is that the man does not fulfil his responsibility and blames God for all this and keeps on complaining. Forgetting his own responsibility and engaging himself in the philosophical problems like whether God exists or not he misleads other human beings as well. Actually God has capability to do every thing but unless the man fulfils his undertaking of five percent God does not help him.

Baba Adam was making me understand these things just as a father counsels his child in loving and affectionate voice. Any way I asked Baba Ji, Why were you given the responsibility for 5 percent .If it were not so you would be still living in paradise and would not undergo this suffering.
Upon this Baba Adam said, When the parents bring up their children and impart them education they have the desire that their children excel them in doing good deeds and bring good name to them. If some one?s son excels his father and becomes more intelligent and a good philosopher then no father becomes unhappy on this count. Therefore it is the desire of all parents that their children follow the path of virtue and make progress but to send them up to the school is 95 percent responsibility of parents and if he studies hard or wastes time in games it is 5 percent responsibility of the child. So the parent?s responsibility and the child?s responsibility together make 100 percent. This is how fulfilment is achieved. Thus with only 95 percent of parents responsibility the child can not attain completion. The God Almighty has based the system of human nature in such a manner that he has taken upon himself 95 percent capability for running the universe. The man is left with 5 percent to run his life. If you inscribe these facts in your mind then these will be very useful for you and those mistakes that have been committed by us will not be repeated.

I told Baba Adam that it will be my endeavour to convey your advice and feelings to your children. The old man said, Tell the man that he should build the house of God in his heart because we have built the house of God out side the hearts into the open and pushed the God into mosques and churches and we go to him only on Fridays and Sundays or when we are in some trouble.? Baba Adam said, When I arrived on the earth then there were no churches, mosques or temples nor there were Bible or Quran or Granth(Sikh Holy Book) or Geeta (The Hindu Holy Book). There was only one order of God that I should not eat this fruit .(Which was part of my 5 per cent responsibility). There was nothing more than that. On hearing this from Baba Adam I recited before him the verse of Bulleh Shah:

Demolish the mosque, demolish the temple, demolish what ever you can
But never demolish the heart of a man because God lives in it.

Applauding this verse Baba Adam said, Just this verse is enough. Conforming to the 5 percent responsibility if you act according to this verse then the God Almighty will be happy and I shall be happy too. So before building the house of God in your heart first throw out the snake from your inside and squeeze out the poison from yourself. Then your fate will change. Change your mind and heart.

The prayer for breaking of love is not blessed
If your heart does not desire that then your utterances are ineffective.

So I want to tell my Pakistani brothers that let us change our hearts and mind for the better.

I am deeply in love you people. That is why I am worried about the future of the nation. I am worried about the new generation which is yet to come. We should ask forgiveness from God for all the mistakes committed by our forefathers. What ever has happened can not be reversed. Today after reading this book if you a have understood a couple of things then act upon them and see how your fate changes. The life spent till now should be considered as a rehearsal—-a rehearsal for how to live your life. But from today onwards you have to enact a real play on the stage of life so that the people give applause on seeing your role and you become an ideal for people. The people should desire to be like you . (Amen)

WHY SHOULD I PRAY FOR DEATH ?

Why should I pray for death and desire to live more?

When some one suffers from an extreme sense of inferiority complex then a cloud of pessimism pervades his life and ultimately he starts praying for death. In order to get rid of the miseries of life he does not mind in committing the base act of suicide. Life is such a beautiful thing. What brings misery in it are poverty, unemployment and particularly the spiritual disturbance. Let us create in ourselves a will to live. Here in Japan along with by business I am also studying computer science and with the help of computer science I have been able to understand many spiritual things on scientific basis. While doing computer programming many fantastic things happen.

Science is in fact the energy produced from balancing the negative and positive energies. This dual characteristic is present in all the common elements of the natural world. Let me make one thing clear here. Generally from minus and plus it is considered that plus is good and minus is bad or weak. But in Japan, Korea and China the negative and plus are used as connotations or terms. Therefore they do not stand for good or bad but their meanings are derived with proper understanding. In Japan positive condition is called Yosei and negative condition is termed as Insei. Thus while deriving a formula they use these terms. For example in order to represent the hot and cold state they use the word Yang that is positive and Yin respectively. I have tried to understand it in the Pakistani way. Here these terms are used for food as well. They say don’t eat this because its effect is hot and the effect of such and such thing is cold. Again they use the term baadi for certain things meaning that it produces gas or wind in the stomach. The purpose of explaining all this is that some people have hot temperament and if we make them eat things with cold effect then it creates a balance in their health and they feel better. So negative and positive both have equal potency and due to their interaction energy is produced.

Thus every thing that exists is in the shape of positive and negative or visible(evident) and invisible (hidden). There are therefore pairs. When we look at the performance of a robot then we praise the company that how nicely they have made the robot and from it we can assess the capability of the company. Now when we look at the robot of our body then we can assess the creative ability of the company from the performance of eyes, .nose, ears and brain. From this we come to believe without any doubt the existence of a ?company? that has created the man and universe and the chief of that spiritual factory that has produced human beings that is God Almighty. The factory of God is operating on scientific grounds. In other words it is working on positive-negative or visible-invisible system and on this is based the whole system of nature. So let us first look at the system of nature which can be perceived by eyes.

Human beings, animals,, plants, electronic items are all based on pair system. And the whole system of universe has come into being through pair system or through the balanced relationship between subject and object. The relationship means that when I speak I have been provided with throat ( vocal cords )and to listen to what I say ears have been given. So a relationship is developed between my throat and the listener?s ears. Thus some thing comes into being by the relationship between the subject and the object. One must ponder over the fact that if my throat and listener?s ears are made by different companies then there will be a confusion. In other words if a TV station and a TV set are made according to a unrelated systems then there would be confusion in the waves being sent and being received and we shall not be able to view a clear picture or hear a clear sound.

Thus when I speak and you listen then it is obvious that the creator of both these things is the same and no one else. We are made by the same company and the stamp of Made in God affixed on us is the living proof of the oneness of God. There is no one else except one God and we have been produced by the same company under its brand name. However there is some difference in the brands. There are some of Bata brand others are of Servis brand. However from this system of law of nature we have got the proof that there is a single being that made us. But he has made pairs of every thing. Thus the being that applies the scientific formula of pair system is God Almighty who is the creator of all scientists and is the biggest scientist of all from whom we learn every thing.

So when I talk of creating a Spiritual Pakistan then its formula is as follows:

Without basing it on ideology of Pakistan and Islamic principles we can not make a worthy Pakistan. The purpose of my emphasis on unity (oneness) of God, time and again, is simply this that without having faith in the unity of God we can not unite. We can not have unification. Just as by joining the five fingers of a hand we can make a (fist) punch similarly we have to unite the people of Pakistan to make it a force. The ?fingers? of our people are being kept separate through the propaganda of the foreign powers and the wrong policies. Their sole purpose is to stir sectarian hatred and create national turmoil and anarchy in order to render the country and nation weak and powerless. If we are getting hollow from inside then one can imagine how easy it will be for our enemies to conquer and destroy us. Sitting here in Japan I am watching Pakistan very carefully and I can foresee very easily the imminent dangers facing Pakistan.

As a Pakistani I deem it my duty to guard my country because it is my country– my home and I have my dear ones in it. If sitting in a distant country I have a feeling that there is some thing in the air that can harm my country then it is better to warn the dear countrymen. This warning should then produce a sense of alert among the people. There are a few things which must be considered first. We should first of all look at Pakistan?s international position. Talking from religious point of view, there are at present two main religious powers in the world that is Christianity and Islam. By studying these two powers we can understand the position of our country very easily.

The Power of Christianity
Comparing ourselves with Europe and America the Christian powers that call themselves civilised we can assess our position. If we place Islam and Christianity in two pans of a balance we find that in respect of moral values and humanity and civilisation Islam has a definite edge. On the other hand Islam is actually not outweighing the other side because it is under tremendous pressure. Just imagine that America and countries of Europe call themselves as civilised and cool-minded and are trying their utmost to declare Islamic countries as extremists, terrorists and hot minded. Leaving aside this there are more dangerous countries who do not believe in any religion or faith particularly Russia are also pressurising Islam from third side. So the present situation of Islam is that we are being pressurised too much and as a result of this pressure we are getting weaker and weaker. The spark that Muslim nation has is in fact the spark of faith and religion. If it is inflamed in a wrong way then we can incur much loss. That is why the foreign powers are trying to inflame this spark in the wrong way in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan and are using them easily for their own benefit and interest.

And this is the time that we ought to be careful that identification and distinction between friends and foes can only save us. Otherwise the enemies exist with in us and can harm us any time. Due to these dangers and apprehensions my objective is to tell you that due to disillusionment, poverty and selfishness the Muslims are loosing faith in God and are getting bad influence from foreign ideologies and thoughts. Thus in spite of being called as Muslims we are fast becoming irreligious. We are Muslims in name only and our deeds are shameful. Such bad deeds are bringing a bad name to Islam in other nationalities. Here in Japan whenever there is an international conference the police makes it a point to visit me as a precautionary measure. Because I am the only Pakistani Muslim here who addresses gatherings, writes in newspapers and holds discussions in TV programmes. The Japanese police in fact wants to know whether I am not a member of some terrorist organisation. And finding out that we are Muslims the nationals in foreign countries consider it better to keep a distance from us. So in the last 15 years my experience in the countries of the world that I visited makes me sad to think that we Muslims are peace-loving people and our God is kind and forgiving. We love others immensely and this reality needs to be made known to others in the world.

POISONOUS HUMAN BEINGS

( The origin, nature and reality of Snake and Wolf )

If I want to administer a bitter medicine to you I know many methods. After all I am the grand son Hakim Mirza Muhammad Sharif. The Hakims (indigenous doctors) know how to treat a patient. I learnt a few tricks from my grand father in my childhood. But grandpa used to say that it is difficult to make children drink bitter medicine but if the patient is elderly then by warning him about the gravity of his disease and with his consent he can take a bitter medicine.

So before administering you a bitter medicine I would like to inform you about the gravity of your disease and the dangerous condition you are in and how would you land in more dangerous ailments in future. The first step in the contraction of a disease is ignorance and lack of knowledge. If due to lack of knowledge one swallows a wrong thing then a poison is produced in the stomach. This poison circulates in the blood and creates headache, stomach ache and innumerable pains. So one has to visit doctors and hospitals again and again. The doctors and hakims then suggest bitter medicines to remove the injurious effect of this poison. And if one does not take the medicine as suggested then the disease aggravates and order to remove the diseased part surgery is required.

Presently there are two major diseases in Pakistani nation which are full of poison and the ailment is aggravating. Two types of human beings are running scot -free in the country. They are snake-types of poisonous nature and wolf-types of ferocious nature.

According to the teaching of Islam or the medicine prescribed by Islam for removing the shadows of darkness and enlightening human beings the following words have been used :

Every Muslim is a brother of other Muslim

If I want to explain this in easy words I would take help from a verse which was written by Hali and is very appropriate and represents my feelings:

You should keep away from them.
What sort of brothers they are
They are capable of selling their brother
Even if he is as good as Yusuf (Josephe)

I hope you have understood the deep meaning of the verse. It is the way of poets to give a bitter advice in sweet covering. Allama Iqbal and Altaf Husain Hali and other poets adopted this way. But I am trying to give you a medicine which should cure your ailment from inside and if there is a large quantity of poison present then surgery should be performed to root out the disease.
I shall come back to the meaning of the verse which explains the poisonous nature of human beings in a very beautiful manner. The reason why good people are running out of Pakistan and staying abroad permanently because they know that there is a large number of slave-traffickers. The real brothers of Yusuf who sold him were more ferocious than wolves. And such dangerous wolves are running free in Pakistan in large numbers and are spreading fear. On the other hand you will find in abundance the human beings with the nature of snake in every department in cities and villages. They intrinsically bite the good people and suck their blood. That is why the blood is getting lesser and lesser in the veins of the common and gentle people of Pakistan and on the other hand the number of snakes and ferocious wolves is multiplying.

The Poisonous Human Beings

I would like to narrate an incident concerning my family. In April 1999 when I came to Pakistan with my Japanese wife and children it was my endeavour to produce a good impression about Pakistan on them. I kept on trying that the children develop a love for Pakistan and when they go back to Japan they carry cherished memories with them. Now as long as I remained with them they had no problem. In order to take part in the orientation ceremony for their new classes they had to return to Japan earlier than me. So I booked seats for them in P.I.A. and went to see them off at the Islamabad airport. Handing over the passport, tickets and other papers to my wife and explaining the procedures etc. to her I came back. As I arrived back home I received a phone call from my wife telling me that PIA people had informed her that seats were not available in plane and due to a fault in the computer there were only two names mentioned against your reservation although I had myself got five seats reserved for my wife, three sons and one daughter. My wife informed me that this was not the case with her only but rest of the passengers are also facing the same problem and are shouting at the PIA counter. Firstly my wife and children could not understand the language and more so they got sacred due the fighting at the counter. And they started crying. Some people at the airport tried to console them and my wife asked a Pakistani to talk to me on the phone who informed me of the situation and people were facing lot of hardship due to mishandling of the situation by the PIA staff and foreigners were unable to comprehend all this. I rushed to the airport and found that my children had been turned out of the departure lounge along with their baggage and were crying and a crowd of spectators was gathered around them. They were unable to explain their plight to the people and were waiting for my arrival with tears in their eyes.

When I arrived there I saw an elderly person who was standing there and on seeing me he said, My son now take charge of your children. It was my duty that I should remain here till your arrival so that some one might not put them in some other trouble.? I thanked the elderly man and immediately went to the booking office to find out the problem. The PIA people told me that the flight was gone and they could not do any thing then and therefore I should contact the head office. So in utter confusion I brought my family back home. The children told me that if they did not reach Japan within next two days they would not be allowed to appear in entrance tests therefore they should be sent to Japan in the next possible flight. I knew about a flight for Tokyo that left Karachi the next day. Therefore next morning reaching early at the head office I informed them of the whole situation to which they said that they were unable to do any thing before the arrival of their big boss. New tickets and booking could only be arranged with his permission. After waiting for a few hours the big boss arrived. His name was Raja Sahib and listening to my complaint he guessed that we were a prosperous party and had come from Japan and were in trouble. So they would be able to dole out money to him. He started giving meaningless advice and I understood his intention. So I asked him whether there was bigger boss around. He told me the name of the bigger boss but I understood his intention and desire.

Anyway I came out of the office and started thinking what should be done next. My conscience was not allowing me to bribe them in order to secure booking for my wife and children. Suddenly it flashed in my mind that I should find out any man of high contacts among my relatives. So I rang up my brother in law who told me that a friend of his uncle was a big boss PIA. I asked him to go to the uncle’s place and bring him along .As he entered the PIA office along with the uncle people started showing respect to him by slightly bowing and saluting. I got impressed with uncle?s personality. He took me straight to the big boss and told him what had happened with his nephew.. He was apologetic and said,? I know this. This has not happened for the first time. I am trying my hard to change the situation but whom should I catch. How can I reform them? It is an Herculean task.? Anyway he made phone call and tried to solve my problem. After making the new reservation when I arrived back at home the children and wife again started crying,? Papa, you were with us here and every thing got smoothened . If the same thing happened in .Karachi who would help us out.? I understood their apprehension and changed my programme. I sought the permission of my parents and my father said that my wife and children were right and it was more appropriate that I accompany them to Karachi. So getting ready we arrived at the airport and were informed that flight to Karachi had been cancelled that day due to technical fault but we had to reach Karachi the same night to catch the Tokyo flight. Again I contacted the booking office who informed me that there was a flight to Karachi via Quetta but seats were not available on it and we could be placed on chance seats. When I informed my wife and children about it they again started crying .and said, Papa, what sort of system is there in your country? If we want to visit Pakistan without you or if we want to roam about in this country without you and want to do any thing we shall face lot of problems.? I told them,Look my children in such a short time and with only a few dealings with Pakistanis you have come across so much trouble. Just imagine the plight of those people who live here and would continue to live here. In front of the problems that they face this is just nothing what you have faced. Let us sit here in the airport mosque and pray to Almighty Allah to alleviate our sufferings. And we started praying together. The God answered our prayers later. We came and stood in the long queue and understanding our frustration a PIA man came to us. I was a little disturbed lest another Raja Sahib had arrived to help us.

Anyway I told the full story to that gentleman who gave us a very appropriate advice. He told us that there were no seats available in the economy class but by paying a little more we could get seats in the first class. Taking the boarding passes for the first class we rushed towards the plane. The plane first landed at Quetta airport. It had to proceed further to Karachi with new passengers from Quetta. We were sent to the transit lounge for a short stop-over but it was announced that due to technical fault the flight would be delayed and we should wait in the lounge. This waiting time was stretched to two hours. The children got worried that they could reach Karachi on time to catch the flight to Japan.

So after waiting for two hours we again embarked on the plane and found out that on the adjacent seats some VIP personality was sitting. He was apologising to the PIA staff that they had to wait so long for him. Then I understood the meaning of technical fault. It was in fact he who by using his VIP influence made the plane wait for him. To be true I felt frustrated. Anyway we arrived at the Karachi airport just thirty five minutes before the Tokyo flight and were able to take the flight at its last moments. Thus this return journey was a big adventure. On reaching Tokyo the conditions of Pakistan remained the key topic of discussion in my family and I tried to provide them answers as best I could. Upon this the children said Papa ! If you help a bit in improving Pakistan?s present condition we shall also help you when we grow up.After knowing in details about Pakistan?s conditions my wife and children asked me to do some thing for Pakistan or otherwise I should write a book to create awareness in Pakistanis. So the problem I was encountered with in Pakistan must have been faced by other Pakistanis as well or they might have faced more difficulties and would have decided not to return to Pakistan again.

The fact is that if ignorance and poverty are not alleviated it would be difficult to get any thing done in Pakistan without greasing some body?s palm. In every department one encounters a Raja Sahib, a Shiekh Sahib, or a Mughal Sahib and to get work done is impossible without doling out any thing to them or without the help of a bigger boss above them. Is it possible that we make Pakistan a country where every thing is done on merit and principles without the influence of money or a bigger boss? The present situation is that bribery has been removed from the list of sins and all the sinful things have become virtues if these serve one?s own interest. So if the concept of sin or remorse is exterminated from a society then the wrath of God descends on it. Due to bribery and corruption the spirits of human beings have been turned into the spirits of snakes and wolves and the number of snakes and wolves is increasing day by day. How can you expect peace and contentment in such a society?

Whenever I come to Pakistan from Japan I have to meet pot-bellied wolves of the custom department on the airports. Some snakes are also loitering around sniffing that some one has arrived from abroad. When I reach my home after getting out of the clutches of these wolves and snakes I heave a sigh of relief and I thank my God. But before reaching home some times I have to encounter some wolves in the uniform of traffic policemen who bombard you with various questions. Where have you come from? Where are you going? Dole out something to us as well. So the time I spend in Pakistan has to be spent with great care and lot of energy is wasted on these precautions and I undergo mental tension. When I occupy my seat in the plane I feel relief but sometimes if it is PIA then I can not sleep in peace because I have to worry about my hand carried baggage . If the number of foreign passengers is high then I sleep calmly. May be those foreigners do not sleep in peace finding a Pakistani sitting next to them. So before going to sleep I say excuse me to them .

The only purpose of writing all this is that many Pakistanis like me are living peacefully in various developed countries but the fact is that they are not happy. Rather they are worried and upset in their hearts about the condition of their country. Every one of them wants that Pakistan should become developed country like other developed countries. Thus my message is for all those Pakistanis who are scattered in various corners of the world and are sending precious foreign exchange to their country after working hard. It is the desire of many Pakistanis living abroad that their children should marry in their own race and nationality and it should be in accordance with their own culture, customs and traditions. But after listening to the hissing of snakes and howling of the wolves they withdraw their decisions. But nothing can happen by withdrawing the decisions. I want to tell all of them that let us go to Pakistan together. Let us make a new Pakistan and bring a revolution in Pakistan . A revolution that would lead the country to the road to progress and this can only be done by those Pakistanis who are living abroad. Because they think internationally. Their plans are geared to leading the country to prosperity. They are influenced by the good policies of the developed countries and they can not betray Islam. No matter the others denigrate Islam they feel proud of being Muslims and are steadfastly attached to their faith but do not want to return to Pakistan.

In this country the number of anti- Pakistan elements has increased manifold. The need is to doubly increase the number of pro-Pakistan elements. Your duty is to increase these Pakistan lovers and deepen the love for their country in their hearts. The biggest Jehad is the love for one?s country and to fight against the country?s enemies within the ranks. I learnt this Arabic saying from my father about Jehad. Having lived in Arabia for along time he was fully conversant with their culture, civilisation, language and thinking. So once I asked him about Jehad and he explained it to me in a very brief but comprehensive way:

When there is tyranny then one resorts to ( Jehad)
When there is cruelty then one prays

So I would like to say the same thing to Pakistani people. You should be grateful to Almighty God that there is no tyrannical dispensation in their country. No such tyranny is being perpetrated on you as being done to Kashmiri Muslims in Kashmir. There is injustice and cruelty in our society. It is cruelty against Islam and these cruelties would go on multiplying and the number of cruel people would also go on increasing. If you will not wage a Jehad against these wolves and snakes then these cruel people will one day become tyrants and in Japan I can only pray for my nation against these cruel people and if you have the revolutionary spirit in you then let prayers alone I am prepared to wage the Jehad along with you. But still I shall say only this:

The prayer for cessation of love is not blessed with acceptance
If the heart is not willing then there is no effect in the talk

You have fallen in love with this material world and to discontinue this there is need for change of heart. If the mind and heart would change then there will be effect in the saying and then all your prayers will be answered. God knows the intentions of human beings. If your intention is good and your mind and heart are clean then it can not happen that the God Almighty would not accept your prayers. Come on let us start with good intention and we prostate in prayers before Him and pray that in his beneficence he should shower His blessings on us in undertaking the arduous task of pulling back Pakistan from its present predicament and making it a developed country of the world.

THE NEED FOR A NATIONAL ARMY

In order to solve the problems of Pakistan there is need for a comprehensive thinking and proper planning. Those Pakistanis who love Pakistan and have means to undertake measures for improving Pakistan?s conditions should have a road map before them and acting upon it a number of reforms should be carried out. I feel that to solve Pakistan?s problems we need a revolutionary thinking and even if we have to take steps other than the present prevailing system of government we should not hesitate to do that. This is an independent and autonomous country and in order to under take these measures we should first take stock of our present problems;
1. Pakistan?s foreign debt. To repay its principal amount and interest one third of Pakistan?s budget is consumed.
2. Annual borrowing for repayment of debt which increases the quantum of debt rather than reducing it
3. Under pressure from the loan-giving countries we have to buy unnecessary things costing millions of dollars which puts our economy under constraint. For example cars and other articles of extravagance without which we could easily live but we are forced to import cars , cosmetics and many food items.
4. We are ourselves an agricultural country. Textile is our most important industry but we are forced by foreign countries to send them raw material and import textile products resulting in closure of our textile industry.
5. We have a steel mill but we run it only at one fourth of its capacity and buy finished products from other countries.
6. The foreign powers have deliberately created differences among the regions of the country in order to increase the use of thermal power instead of hydro-electric power. Now we are dependent on thermal power and other foreign agencies.
7. America and other foreign countries have forced us to neglect our own industry and import those things from outside which are already produced within the country. IMF and World bank want us to levy such heavy taxes on our own products that these become more expensive than the imported ones.

Those of us who travel to America and other foreign countries will bear me out that every person entering those countries is thoroughly searched. One can not carry anything to America which is produced in America itself. If you carry any vegetable or fruit or flowers to America the custom people stop you and tend to destroy it saying that you could buy the same in America at a cheaper price or they do not want to introduce a virus in their existing system. If you enter America you are asked to show the amount of money you are carrying with you and if you have cash then they ask you questions like where did you get this money from or what were your means of income and those who leave America are also not allowed to take with them more than the fixed amount of money but the international institutions dominated by America force us to indiscriminately allow every thing to enter Pakistan. Any one who enters Pakistan with as much amount of money is not obliged to tell the government about his amount and plans of spending it. For this purpose America has constituted certain agencies under the United Nations . Within America they enforce their own laws but all these laws become irrelevant in Pakistan and other developing countries under the supremacy of these so-called international agencies.

There is need today that the government of Pakistan should strengthen its laws with in the country and for at least ten years we should enforce our own laws instead of following the dictation of so-called international agencies. It is necessary that:
1.Pakistan should seek 5-year holiday from international institutions and they should be given understanding that we shall pay off our debts after five years and they should not bother Pakistan during these five years.
2.There should be a ban on import of every thing in the country except life-saving materials
3.There should be ban on driving more than 800 CC vehicle and only certain institutions of special importance should be aloud to use cars of 1200 or 1600CC.
4.All government officials up to the rank of secretaries should travel by buses from their offices and back.
5.All those industries that are closed down should be given one month?s notice to restart them and in case they have shortage of running capital they should be provided the same against proper collateral.
6.The industries of those who can not run them should be handed to the workers and they should be asked to operate them on co-operative system. The government should help them in this connection. After assessment of the value their shares should be sold in the stock market. The workers of the enterprise should also be allowed to purchase these shares. The technical experts of the industrial concern should be provided full opportunity to run that industry. The industrial sector should be fully energised.

In Pakistan many highly educated people consisting mostly of engineers and commerce graduates, MBBS doctors and MA, MSc s are unemployed and are searching for jobs. Why? Isn?t it the responsibility of the government to provide them jobs and security of life. The administrative system of Pakistan has been so planned that for instance in Punjab there are 62 thousand employees of police department and 42 thousand out of them are assigned the job of looking after the security of ministers political personalities and government buildings and the remaining 20 thousand are sitting in police stations to take care of the life and property of 8 to 9 hundred million people. These statistics are a few years old but no conspicuous change has occurred in these figures. The number of unemployed in Pakistan is stated to be between 80 hundred thousand to one million and there is perpetual increase in this number because of downsizing in various sectors. After all why in this way manpower is being wasted in Pakistan. Why doesn?t the government prepare a comprehensive programme to get work out of them. Before this in Soviet Union and People Republic of China they have so used their huge manpower that China is now emerging as the second biggest super power in the world. In the countries of former Soviet Union there is a definite plan of utilising the enormous manpower available and the problem of wastage of manpower and unemployment is almost non-existent there.

In Pakistan the government shall have to make some laws and implement some reforms to utilise this surplus manpower. The government should legislate for setting up an organisation under the name of ?Pakistan National Army? for the unemployed between the ages of 18 and 50 years. All these people should be recruited in their respective districts. The retired army officers should be appointed as their commanders in every district and these people should be distributed up to the tehsil ( sub-division) level. Those who meet the requirements of army should be absorbed in the armed forces and those who are found fit to work in the police department should be employed in police. Those who have expertise in engineering or have professional qualifications should be assigned to the related fields. This Pakistan National Army will turn the barren lands into fertile ones and sink tube wells every where.

The members of the PNA should go to Balochistan and work for turning barren lands into fertile lands. New canals should be dug there and tube wells should be sunk. Along the shore of Balochistan at least on a 20mile strip coconut ,papaya, cannola and other productive plants should be cultivated. The sea water should be purified and made suitable for use in irrigation. Foreign technology may be obtained for this purpose. At present there is at least 8 million acres of land that can be made cultivable . I f all of us would gather courage to do it the God Almighty will also bless us. I can say with full conviction that this National Army comprising 10 million people will be self supporting with in three months and would be producing thousand of tons of fresh vegetables and cereals and pulses which can be used within the country and the surplus could be exported. With fast growing crops the expenses of the National Army could be easily met. This PNA would work on emergency basis in NWFP, Sind and Balochistan. The unemployed youth of this area should be given preference for jobs . The people from other provinces should only be brought if there was dire need in these areas and the local manpower was not available. In other cases the National Army should be consolidated in respective provinces.

PNA is not an alternate army. It will be just a part of the regular army. In most of the countries of the world including America and Britain military service is essential. In Islam also every citizen requires military training. We, Muslims, have forgotten this Islamic principle for many centuries. This principle should be reintroduced. The biggest benefit of this army would be that we shall be able to re-use the mountains, plains and deserts for the progress and uplift of Pakistan. The manpower of Pakistan is the biggest blessing of God Almighty. On this occasion I want to remind you of the saying of biggest revolutionary of the world late Chairman Mao Tse Tung . When America and United Nations were calling for population control the Chairman said,? Whosoever is born in China he is blessed with a mouth to eat and two hands to work. Therefore we should not stop the growth of our population in an unnatural manner?

This is right that we should try to stop the unnecessary increase in our population but it is not justifiable that all those who have come into this world should be left to face the misery of unemployment, poverty and disease. This can never happen. If we set up Pakistan National Army it would usher in a new period of progress and prosperity in the country. The National Army should be given military training first and then should be involved in various projects of national re-construction. At present Pakistan is faced with the most explosive problem of unemployment and poverty. With this national army work can be immediately undertaken on Skardu Dam, Manda Dam, Dasu Dam, Bhasha Dam, Bhasha Dam and Kala Bagh Dam. Other development projects can also be initiated in the country which include making such dams as mentioned above, digging new canals and cleaning the old canals ( bhal safai). Interestingly this last work is already being carried out by the present Pakistan Army. This national force will also carry out development work in agriculture, will make the waste lands cultivable and will strengthen the sides of irrigation canals and streams. At present we have two crops in a year but along with these some more crops can also be grown which include vegetables, pulses and other consumable commodities and they will also work for producing fodder for animals and low cost crops.(End of Chapter)

THE BIGGER PROJECTS

The PNA will make big dams. There will be no contractor system for it. Some units of the national army will blast the stones of the mountains and other members of this army will make bricks . The engineers will make dams and install the machinery. The biggest advantage of this system will be that bribery and kick- back system will is system will come to an end. The national army shall itself work on all development and nation building projects. In every nook and corner of the country in every province this army will break stones, make bricks and construct buildings and run factories . Those factories which are closed down shall be reopened and run by them and the ten million unemployed of Pakistan among whom there are highly educated people will play their role in national construction .

There are numerous advantages of making national army and to recount them we need much ink and paper but important advantages that can be foreseen are given below:
1.With the recruitment of unemployed people in PNA the unnecessary crowd of people in the streets and on the roads will be reduced. These people who are now source of lawlessness will be engaged in nation building activity.
2.The unemployed and poor people who are responsible for committing thefts and dacoities and other acts of lawlessness due to their economic condition will earn their honest living. Thus the proportion of crime will go down..
3.Those who will join PNA will learn to respect discipline and respect for law and in five to ten years the majority of people will be those who have disciplined manners. Just as the members of armed forces lead a disciplined life similarly the members of national army will also be following a strict regime of discipline.
4.The people who indulge in narcotics business are usually the unemployed people who earn money by illegal means . When they will have a regular employment then the tendency towards narcotics business will receive great set back.
5.Those who will join national army would be posted on the Pak-India, Pak_Iran or Pak-Afghanistan borders. This will help in stopping smuggling which will boost up the locally produced commodities.
6.Due to engagement of those who make their income by illegal means and are also extravagant in spending it would no more waste their time in the market places and would only purchase the essential commodities. So the prices will also come down. When those who earn their living by gambling, smuggling or narcotic dealers will be no more there then there will be no spendthrift people left.
1. 7.In order to participate in the national development every individual shall have to contribute his work which would result in increase in per capita income and the growth of population will also be curtailed in a natural way and we shall not have to employ unnatural means to arrest the growth of population.

WHAT WILL THE NATIONAL ARMY DO?

Every body raises this question. There are many tasks before this nation that should have been initiated soon after getting independence in 1947 but we did not undertake them. Rather we tried to spoil many good things we inherited from the British. Let us first discuss the national institutions. National Army shall work for the development and progress of all big national institutions. For example Pakistan Railway. This is an important national institution. Looking from the national point of view this is the backbone of Pakistan. In the past many politicians and rich people wanted to buy this institution and in order to fulfil their desire they have considerably damaged this institution. Taking bribes from different transporters they suspended the train service on railway branch lines and even on main lines. Railway was a profitable institution but it has been reduced to a perpetual deficit organisation. The tendency of theft has been encouraged in it. The important railway workshops have been close down although these workshops are quite advanced workshops and could manufacture railway engines. The most modern machinery is present in them. Then why these workshops have been closed down?

Just because alongside the railway colonies, railway stations and workshops there is precious land worth million of rupees belonging to railway. These capitalists, industrialists, politicians were preparing to sell it to the private parties after declaring it a white elephant and a hot bed of corruption, bribery and an anti-people institution. The National Army can play a dominant role in developing railway and eliminating corruption, bribery and theft from it. The railway track between Karachi and Peshawar should be made a double track. The trains should be run on main lines and branch lines in large numbers and very regularly. The number of trains should be increased and its fares should be reduced. The number of ticket-less passengers should be reduced. The workshops are there to manufacture new bogeys and goods trains. We can ourselves manufacture railway engines and these could be imported as well if required.

Instead of doing downsizing the number of employees should be recruited according to the requirement. The National Army should guard and supervise the railway trains throughout Pakistan. Surely this organisation can boost up the dwindling economy of the country and make the poor and unemployed people happy. The salaries of railway employees should be raised. The ticketing system should be modernised. Small trolleys should be kept on railway platforms for the baggage of passengers. The porters should be provided respectable jobs and absorbed in the National Army and given proper emoluments. The lands lying useless near all railway stations should be freed from illegal possession of encroaching groups and vegetables, fruit and other edible stuff should be cultivated on them. The produce of these crops should be sold to railway employees on cheap prices or sold to common people. The concerned units of the National Army can devise their rules for this purpose depending upon the objective conditions. For railway employees on every railway station four, five and six storied flats should be constructed and rented out to them. There should be grain shops and grocery stores of railway where Nation Army workers could sell commodities on cheap prices. This would help reduce the price hike. On all big railway stations on the mainline from Peshawar to Karachi and other branch lines arrangements should be made to provide housing to railway employees. For example there are thousands of employees of Lahore railway station who have no arrangement for their housing. On the other hand for officers big houses and colonies are available. The influential people are in illegal possession of thousands of acres of railway land. Such lands should be taken back from them and they should be prosecuted and should be given exemplary punishment.. The land thus freed should be utilised for the betterment of the railway organisation.

Similarly WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority)is in fact the soul of Pakistan. Its system should be attached with the welfare of Pakistan. The employees of Railway and WAPDA whether high or low should be members of the National Army. They should work under a single code of discipline and all their tasks should be governed by military regulations. All of them should work considering themselves as patriotic citizens of Pakistan. For the prosperity and development of Sind, Balochistan and Frontier Province the manpower of Punjab should be utilised. Every Pakistani must know that although the population of Punjab is in majority but it comprises Punjabis, Balochs, Pathans, Sindhis, Urdu and Seraiki speaking people. If Punjab had only Punjabis then its population should have been more than 30 to 40 million but in Punjab there are about six to 10 million Pashtu speaking people and there are about 20million of those who migrated from India in 1947 and settled here.Even in Balochistan there are not as many Balochs or in Frontier Province there are as many Pathans as many live in Punjab. Similarly in Sind there is majority of Seraiki speaking people and in Punjab more than half the population speaks Seraiki. Thus in Punjab there is an admixture of people of all languages and regions of Pakistan. Therefore when the people of other provinces abuse Punjabis then they in fact abuse their own nationalities living in Punjab also. So the National Army should work for whole of Pakistan rising above these petty provincial, regional and linguistic prejudices. There will be no quota system for it. Whosoever where ever he is will be recruited in the National Army and I assure the authorities that within three months of their recruitment this National Army will become self-sufficient in its own expenditure and would also contribute to the national exchequer. If the departments like WAPDA or Railway start working honestly and successfully and the thefts and pilferage in them are stopped then there will be no problem in paying the salaries of National Army.

The biggest advantage of National Army would be that the development and construction work in whole of the country will be carried out by this organisation. Where ever the roads are to be constructed then manpower of National Army will not only blast the mountains but also make the roads. The cost of blasting mountain will be passed on to the National Army. When there would be no contractor system then there will be no bribery or kick backs. In local bodies also National Army will be involved. All the development projects on that level shall be completed with the help of National Army. The making of all the drains and means of expelling water, roads and availability of drinking water, installation of tube wells will be done by the National Army instead of contractors. The development funds of all districts will spent on the development of respective districts. The cleaning of old canals, digging of new canals, straightening the edges of rivers and removal of sand from within these would improve the irrigation system. The work on making dams will be carried out on scientific lines. Instead of importing huge machinery the available man power will be utilised. Employing the means of transport we shall be able to complete the work requiring six to seven years in six to seven months.

God knows why every ruler of Pakistan after assuming the control considers the assets of the country as his personal or inherited fiefdom. The government lands and institutions are rich assets of the country. The banks and institutions and assets are all national property and we circulate currency through these organisations. By distributing these assets or privatising them we reduce the value of currency. Similarly the dream of one of our ex-prime ministers resulted in the Motorway. Firstly aimlessly huge expenditure was made on it in the name of foreign agencies. Our national organisations had offered that they could construct the Motorway of international standard at half the proposed price. Initially the project was of 15 to 16 billion rupees which the government agencies were prepared to construct at 8 to 10 billion rupees but the contract was awarded to Daewo and up to completion the cost escalated to 65 to 70 billion. At that time it was suggested to the then prime minister that instead of constructing motorway the old Karachi-Peshawar highway should be converted to motorway by widening it into six lanes . In this way the expenditure would be less and the hundreds of thousands acre of land being utilised for new motorway would remain in use for cultivation purpose. Similarly the years old G.T.Road should also be widened to six lanes and the colonies being set up along this road would continue expanding. This would fulfil his dream and the communication would improve and at the same time the nation would not go under debt. Those who supported this Motorway should tell us today as to how much is the income from Motorway and what is the expenditure? How much more fare is charged from those who travel between Lahore and Rawalpindi? How many flights of PIA between Lahore and Islamabad have been cancelled and what is the magnitude of losses to PIA on this account?

We are not bothered that who were the recipients of commission in this contract. This is between those who received it but we can assess its effect on the communication and what losses are being borne by the nation.. Anyway the proposed National Army will not only double the railway track between Karachi and Peshawar but would also convert the national highway into motorway between Karachi and Peshawar and between Karachi and Gawadar along the cost. At present the development work is required to be undertaken in Balochistan. To meet the shortage of water tube wells can be installed . Underground water resources can be explored and in some places those crops can be grown which can be irrigated artificially for sometimes besides the rains. There is substantial amount of barren land there on which cultivation has not been carried out for centuries. These are otherwise fertile lands. Here tree plantation can be done in a big way and tube wells can be installed. Big industries can also be installed here. The industrialists should set up industries on these vast plains instead of establishing them in populated areas or agricultural lands.

Sind is an important province of Pakistan. Here the distinction between Sindhis and Muhajirs has been created because new Sindhis do not get any employment or scarcely get employment. When every jobless person will be employed then this distinction will also automatically disappear. Every educated or uneducated citizen of the country should be recruited in the National Army and work should be taken from him according to his capacity and emoluments should be accordingly paid. There is need for utilising the vast resources of Pakistan. The mineral resources of our mountains are presently concealed from us. The gushing stream of oil under the earth has not been so far explored. If for five years we continue the development work through the National Army we shall come to understand the meaning of self-sufficiency and dependency on indigenous resources. Moreover all the debts that we have secured from foreign agencies can be paid in one go.

In Punjab vast tracts of land are available in Cholistan, Multan and Pothohar plains. To reclaim this land there is need for hard work and sustained labour. World Bank and IMF would like that we should stop cultivating wheat and other edible commodities in Pakistan and should only eat Kentucky chicken or American Burgers. The whole lot of poor should perish in this country and only few rich families should survive and live in Larkana or Raiwind palaces and should fill their bellies by air lifting Macdonald Burgers and Kentucky Chickens on helicopters but we shall not allow American agencies to fulfil their nefarious designs. We have to make Pakistan an independent and respectable country and the concept of National Army can be a motivational force in this direction.

PAKISTAN NATIONAL ARMY SOME MORE FUNCTIONS

January 8, 2009 by
Filed under Let me come to Pakistan

In order to organise Pakistan National Army the services of some retired or active generals and senior officers should be requisitioned. They will manage to maintain discipline in such a big army as well as keep it active to attain its cherished goals. This army will be divided into various divisions just as they have in regular army and work in different sectors and departments. The development funds of districts, tehsils, streets etc. will be at the disposal of the army commander of the respective area. Whether they have to repair roads or channels the official work of every nature will be carried our by this organisation. Cement factory of the area will provide cement and bricks would be baked in the kilns managed by the army . Thus all development and construction work will be carried out by them. The concept of contractor will be done away with. So if there will be no contractor naturally there will be no bribery and other cash transactions. Everything will be purchased in writing and the payment will be made by the government.

The population in the whole of the country will be rehabilitated under proper planning. In place of the old types of awkwardly constructed habitats flat system will be promoted according to the needs of the area so that conducive atmosphere could be created for agriculture, forests and other environmental considerations. Every where flats should be constructed in four to eight storeys. Especially in the big cities instead of living in scattered places the people will be persuaded to live in eight to ten-storied flats. Rawalpindi city is expanding enormously. The city of Lahore now spreads over 100 square miles. The diseases among the population are on the increase and the sanitary arrangements have gone berserk. This population can be inhabited in 8 or 10 proper units. There should be proper gap between every two units for saving them from environmental pollution. With every city there should be land available for growing vegetables and important edibles for the citizens. The awkward expansion of cities and population are both dangerous for the government and the people.

National Army will construct multistoried flats and business centres at proper places. Here most modern civil amenities will be available including provision of water and drainage system. For smooth flow of traffic underpasses and roads will be constructed. Underground railways will be started like the developed countries so that the overcrowding and noise pollution could be removed from the congested roads. The system will be such that rains and floods would not be able to disturb them. The National Army will carry out all these duties gradually.

The units of National Army will keep an eye on the politicians and government officials and other dubious people of the area and would find out how had they amassed so much property. If they would prove that they had acquired it in a legitimate manner then they would be allowed to keep it otherwise all such assets and wealth will be expropriated by the National Army in the name of nation and the country. The members of National Army will keep an eye on those who spend more than their income and hold their accountability.

The National Army will ensure that all those who want to contest election are eligible to do so under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution and find out the means and method of carrying out such expenditure.
The national Army will perform such developmental work in every area which would make the nation a developed nation as a whole. The National Army will constitute Sports Boards on every district and tehsil level to promote hockey, football, volleyball, body building, weightlifting and other sports. The teams would be formed in districts so that every young person could participate in games and will so organise the sports in specific games that all the time the best players are available in their respective fields of sports. This will make Pakistani people as individuals of a healthy nation and Pakistan?s name will become known for other sports in the world besides cricket.

The biggest achievement of the National Army would be that no unemployed and jobless will be left in the country. This will help in rooting out poverty, disease and hunger from the country. The whole nation will be involved in work and we shall be able to proudly say that we are also a nation of hardworking people. Therefore no country in the world will ever dictate us to fix the prices of electricity, gas, petrol and wheat. We shall run our economy, trade and industry on our own sweet will. After getting out of the slavery of IMF and World Bank we shall be able to take our own decisions like all independent and important nations of the world.

This plan is an outline just a preliminary outline and many changes can be made in it while implementing it. By working on these lines we shall emerge as a nation of which Allama Iqbal dreamt and we shall give practical shape to Quaid-e-Azam?s principles of unity, faith and discipline. This will bring us out of the quagmire and due to our agility our enemies would restrict themselves within their limits.

THE LAST SUBMISSION

In this book effort has been made to give some suggestions for the progress of the nation and the country. A detailed analysis and critique of the national character and temperament has been carried out. The purpose is that we sit before the mirror with honesty and try to remove the defects from our face where ever necessary. As the poet says:
We are the ones who have defaced ourselves
There are others who could paint themselves like a picture
As long as we shall not undertake collective measures to improve our defects the work for national development and reconstruction can not be initiated. So far we have discussed some problems and have assessed our shortcomings in a symbolic way so that we could find out where we were wrong and by following which principles we could expedite the unfinished development process. If we move forward with the intention of progress and development then there are many suggestions and new ideas available. Our Saint Iqbal had said:

You are the fool who is content with a few flower buds
Otherwise there was solution to the problem of space in the scarf

The shortage of space should not restrict us. We should understand that in order to enable a country to stand on its own feet we need three pillars:
First. Education. It is imperative that besides imparting professional and vocational education to every boy and girl we have to make them conversant with the modern science and technology.
Second: Economy. We need highly imaginative experts in economics who would help us in getting rid of debts and market economy and with the help if indigenous resources work towards attaining self-sufficiency in the country. This requires immense hard work but it is not impossible.
Third: The defence of Pakistan should be made impregnable. Those who are talking of downsizing the army want to make Pakistan a satellite of big powers and India. Along with the regular army the Pakistan National Army will be there to assist in defending the country.

When the people of this country will be free from the problems of unemployment, price hike and inflation and every one will be educated then the country will be economically strong. This will automatically wipe out ignorance, poverty and destitution from the country. If we shall make progress in science and technology then our country will also be rated among the advanced countries of the world. I hope you will forgive me for repeating myself. But my readers must have understood that our aim is not to act against any one .Rather it is to make the country strong and to arouse the feelings of national pride among the masses. That will enable us to pull ourselves out of decline and predicament and by fulfilling the five percent responsibility that Almighty God has laid on us bring back the country to the ?perfect? position. .First of all every Pakistani should become conscious of his duties towards the country and then the state should take care of his civil and human rights. The civil rights of each citizen become operative only if he discharges his responsibilities to the state. One who does not fulfil his obligations has no right to demand his rights because rights and responsibilities are the two aspects of the same problem.

In order to understand our own rights and rights of the state we need the education. We should serve the country with full capability and honesty and perform our share of duty. We have presented the concept of Pakistan National Army before you. With its implementation the country will get rid of unemployment, price hike and bribery and illegal monopolies. It is therefore the duty of intellectuals, learned people and people in power to promote the concept laid out before you with amendments and additions. This is my firm belief that if we start implementing this system the kingdom of God that is Pakistan shall become a picture of paradise with colourful fruits and lush green orchards and fields.

Japan is my second country. Here we have most modern expertise in the field of agriculture. If the government permits me I am prepared to bring the most modern agricultural technology to Pakistan and can also arrange loans as well as the services of Japanese experts who could train Pakistani experts. The way the world is developing there is imminent danger of a food crisis in the world. During that period only those countries will survive that have capability of producing their own food. Recently Pakistan had a small jolt of drought which was a warning from the nature to awaken the people of Pakistan. I have made an in depth study of the agricultural system of Japan and their endeavours to achieve self-sufficiency in food. The Japanese scientists are busy in this work day and night. They think that in the coming days even the sea food will become insufficient. They are also working on the problem that if Japan had perpetual earth quakes what would happen?

In this region Pakistan is the only country that can provide food to the millions of people of surrounding countries in addition to its own people. In the past Pakistan has displayed its capability by granting asylum to 4 million Afghan refugees. The will to serve humanity exists in us but we also need the capability to do so. We should start preparations right now to help the world and for that it is imperative that we muster all our resources and energies. From Japan I want to bring the following invaluable presents:
1.Japanese Agricultural Technology System
2.Railway System(Bullet Train)
3.The law for Compulsory education

I have already expressed my feelings regarding the agricultural and educational systems. Now I want to say a few words about railway system. Thirty years ago the then prime minister Tanaka of Japan had laid the foundation of a great economic revolution. Through this revolution he had turned the whole of Japan into a single transport unit. The mountains were dug and under the earth and the sea tunnel system was constructed for the railways. When Mr Tanaka presented this idea in the parliament, the opposition opposed it tooth and nail and declared it impracticable. An ordinary Japanese was also disturbed because he could not comprehend as to how would they connect the railway tracks by digging tunnels under the mountains and the sea. But Mr Tanaka said that if the man had the will then it was not difficult to make tunnels under the mountains and the sea. Prime minister Tanaka turned this dream into reality in a very short time and the single means to boost the economy of Japan is this bullet train. In Japan they have also manufactured faster trains now which ply at 500 to 600 kilometres an hour. Another train is ready which would run at a speed of 2000 kilometres an hour . Alas their country is so small. I wish that this train should also come to Pakistan and it makes progress with jet speed.

All these things are only possible if we improve our moral and civic values, imbibe the knowledge of higher education and technology, train our consciousness and intellectual prowess and strengthen our faith and invite Humayun Mughal to come Back to Pakistan:

Come my love-my eyes are waiting for you. (Aja Tenu Akheian Udik Diyan)
