WHAT WERE OUR MISTAKES ?

We had confessed our mistakes and shortcomings before the father of the nation and also bowed our head to ask his forgiveness but what are those mistakes? As long as we do not identify the mistakes that were the cause of our malaise and predicament and find out the ways to rectify those mistakes we can not undo the wrong done to our administration, unity and discipline.
What I could make out from all this is that Pakistan is a great country and an ideological state. People came from all corners of India to settle down in it. It was such a country that Muslims from all over India considered it as the fortress of Islam and came to live here. It was an exemplary state for not only Indian Muslims but Muslims from all over the world. Just as the Muslims of the whole Muslim world were looking at it as a beacon of light and ideological leader similarly the powers inimical to Islam were planning from the day one to break it and fragmenting its ideological identity into pieces. That is why Quaid-e-Azam and Quaid-e-Millat both had warned the nation to be ware of its enemies. From his practical experience Quaid-eAzam made it clear that Hindus were the greatest enemies of Muslims.
Be ware of the politics of Hindus. Save your self from the mischief of Hindus. But as the Quaid-e-Millat closed his eyes after the demise of the Quaid-e-Azam our subsequent leaders forgot the advice of the founders of the country. Pakistan was established as asocial welfare state. Quaid wanted its democratic system to be an exemplary system for the poor and impoverished of the country irrespective of the fact whether they belonged to Bengal or Punjab, NWF,P Sind or Baluchistan. He is a Pakistani wherever he lives. But during the first twenty five years of its existence the politics of Pakistan was dominatedby those who instead of harnessing the collective intellect and power of the nation created power pockets political influence in various regions of the country. For self-aggrandisement they tried to build up their politics on regional, linguistic and ethnic basis. They wanted to rule the country but were averse to making the country a united as a single entity as strong as a cliff. They practised their politics on the basis of provincial and linguistic prejudices. These selfish people succeeded in creating confusion and disunity in country?s politics and gradually drifted away from the goals set by its founders. An atmosphere of loot was created by all sections of people including politicians, government functionaries, traders, shopkeepers, capitalists ,feudals, workers and tenants. Whatever they laid hands on they usurped it. This lawlessness was death knell for the country and it trickled down to the common man level. Instead of handing over the evacuee property left by Hindus and other Non Muslims to refugees and homeless Muslims the politicians and small and big officials of bureaucracy got it allotted to themselves. Some politicians and civil officers got engaged in a race to become wealthy and rich. They became busy in increasing their assets and bank balances. One can not say this for every one but majority appeared to be engaged in this pursuit . The judges of the superior courts and most of the workers of the Pakistan movement instead of looking after the convoys of refugees coming from India in destitution got involved in the allotment of big properties to these people and then buying it back from them on cheap rates. This race for getting wealthy was very dangerous and for those who were engaged in it the ideology of Pakistan, Islam or even a Muslim were of no value.. Pakistan was a plant of sweet fruit sowed by Quaid-e-Azam but these people instead of watering it or pruning its branches and leaves or adding fertiliser to its roots started plucking its flowers and damaging its trunk. Instead of making it a strong tree they got engaged in splitting it on regional, linguistic and linguistic basis and this beautiful plant instead of undergoing natural development became victim to the fire generated by the greedy eyes and mean conspiracies hatched by the enemies
If we had cared for this tree and had kept its ideological foundations straight then the whole world had enjoyed its cool shade and the whole region had fulfilled its needs of its sweet fruit. We could have experimented in grafting new varieties of fruit in its branches to make the whole of Islamic world aware of its taste and had benefited from it by making the whole world a land of the pure. But alas we could not do it. Instead of feeding our Pakistani brothers on this sweet fruit we are giving them bitter and sour fruit to eat sent by our enemies and making them disillusioned with Pakistan. We have lost our way and this waywardness has already shown us bad days and we are still living in bad times.
Look at it. We have more than half of Punjab with us and less than half of Punjab with India. It was this undivided Punjab which supplied food grain to the whole of India during pre-partition days. Now we have vast fertile parts of NWFP and Sind and the beautiful land of Baluchistan. How come that the land which could feed 400 million people with its grain can not produce grain for only 150 million people? What happened to our lands and peasants? Compared to this the smaller Indian Punjab produces wheat for 1000 million people. They do not collect water levy from peasants and tillers of land and power bill is just nominal. But per acre production is double than ours and the wheat is of better quality. In our country the land is in the possession of big land lords and feudals. There are few regions where land is in possession of small peasants and tillers. In India the agricultural department advises under regular planning as to where should they grow wheat and in which areas they should grow sugar cane. They have specially earmarked certain points where the producer collects his produce and food department takes away this grain after proper weighing and paying the peasants in cash terms.
On the other hand the agricultural department in our country does not provide farmers and land owners proper guidance. In India the production and supply of adulterated and fake pesticides as well as sub-standard fertilisers is an heinous crime. Whereas fake pesticides are officially supplied to the farmers and its price is also too high because these fake pesticides and fertilisers are produced under the patronage of government and semi-government organisations. Moreover peasants are not given any concession in power tariff. The food department or sugar and cotton mill owners purchase the commodities from peasants through a middleman called arhti.
Why food department or sugar mills and cotton purchasers do not go to the producers and buy these commodities on the spot by proper weighing and paying them in cash. If our farmers and peasants are provided with high quality seeds, pesticides and fertilisers on reduced prices and nominal power tariff is charged from them, then surely our farmer can produce better grain than India and can also increase per acre yield. Because Pakistan is a god-gifted state therefore we make fake pesticides here. We adulterate the fertilisers and under a conspiracy charge commercial rate of tariff from our farmers. Even then our farmers are giving excellent results. Agriculture is a sector of economy and if we carry out improvements in this sector we can make enormous progress in the field of agriculture. Which means that we can become self-sufficient in grain production. We can also be self-sufficient in oil-producing seeds and lentils. We can produce vegetables, rice, sugar etc. more than our requirement. Similarly if our cotton and rice crop is grown after proper planning under government patronage we can earn lot of foreign exchange from these two crops.
But Japanese are surprised to see that Pakistan is such a big country where there are rivers and the biggest canal network in the world and still we are poor. God Almighty has not blessed Japan and other countries with these natural resources, still the agriculture and industry in these countries is running in full swing. But agriculture is in bad shape in Pakistan. Agricultural industry is in bad shape. Common industries are gone sick. Textile industry is at stand still. Why is it so? Pakistani workers are present in every part of the world. They ork there day and night. Why can not they work remaining in their own country. Many international experts have analysed this situation. Surely Pakistanis should be aware of it. I did not want to mention this but this is surprising for every one as to what has happened to our industrialists. They are busy in setting up industries in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries but why are they not running their industries in Pakistan? After securing loans from Pakistani banks and financial institutions why have they locked their units and are wandering in other countries? Running the industry in their own country is the most important task before them which is in accordance with the doctrine of the God Almighty and holy prophet.
The father of the nation sowed the best and most fruit -giving seed for the Pakistani tree and himself departed from the world with the hope that his children and trained leaders would take care of it and nurture it with their blood but he forgot to remember that the children whom he had assigned this task were themselves not properly brought up. How could these half-wit children take care of the tree under whose shade three generations of millions of Muslims have been wandering in utter confusion.
This has made me to think that the children were not properly educated with the method of taking care and nurturing of the plant. The result is that it has become a tree and no body has taken care of its flowers and that is the reason that its fruit is not so sweet and nourishing .If we had taken a good care of this tree and had produced good fruit then people of other countries had also enjoyed its taste and sweetness and Pakistan would be known to the world and the people would learn principles of regulating their lives from us. Then they could graft their own trees with our tree and their trees instead of producing sour fruit could produce sweet, juicy and fragrant fruits like our tree.
In this land of the pure there was only one symbol of Quaid-e-Azam. She was mother of the nation Mohtarama Fatima Jinnah. She was pained to see what these goof children were doing with the tree planted by her brother Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Whenever she would come forward to tender some advice to these children they would push her back. Once in her old age she did come forward to cleanse the country of the bad and fake leadership. She contested the presidential election as well. But these stupid children had full control of the country and they made her lose the election in front of the eyes of the people. All the patriotic people felt so much grief that they cried bitterly but there was not a trace of tears in the eyes of this great sister of Quaid-e-Azam. Rather there was anger and a word of warning to these children that you made me helpless but would you go on feeding the people and nation with these raw and sour fruit in future. The mother of the nation expressed her point of view in strong words to the children and left this mortal world for heavenly abode. Like her brother she was an angelic personality free from any selfish motives. The nation lost in her a mother who was always ready to tender her true advice and guidance to her children.
